Covid Spirit Week

My kids and some of my nieces and nephews are still doing virtual learning and I can only imagine how stir crazy they are going! Some of their teachers don’t even allow them to speak during glass, all day I hear “Type it in the chat, type it in the chat”. So not only are they stuck behind a computer but they no real interaction with friends at all.

The only thing that saves 2 of mine is that Kayden is playing football and Kimara goes to work. So they have some type of interaction with the outside world! For a few weeks I was trying to figure out something to do with them to keep their minds off not being in the class room!

Then walah an idea came to me to do a spirit week! They didn’t get to partake in the one at school so why not do it amongst each other. I think the hardest part was coming up with ideas to be different than a normal school spirit week. I really wanted them to embody their creativity and get out of their comfort zone. Most importantly to have fun!!!

Mon- Super Hero day

draw a character or dress up as one

give the hero 2 powers

name it

Tue- Dance day

Create a dance step

name it

my little tik tokers should loveeeeee this one

Wed-Backwards day

wear clothes backwards

walk backwards

write backwards

Thur- Thankful Thursday

write a letter or send a text to the people you are thankful for. Tell them why and say thank you

Friday - was just a free playful day

The kids enjoyed it more than I expected which made the week even more fun! Each day they got to share with each other what they did!

Try a Spirit week with your kids and let me know how it goes.
